Interview

Where did we meet?

Answer: At the border of Argentina and Paraguay. Then, we met up again at a hostel in Montevideo, Uruguay.

What sparked your interest in traveling?

Answer: Curiosity about other cultures.

You’re the only person I know to visit all 7 continents. What was the motive behind it?

Answer: Accomplish it before 30. Add it in the resume as well.

What’s left to accomplish after visiting every continent?

Answer: Keep going! Visit all 50 USA States next. Plus, there’s still more of the world to see.

How do you deal with cultural barriers, such as different languages, customs, etc.?

Answer: OBSERVE. Talk less and listen more. A smile goes a long way!

What’s the best part of traveling? What about the worst?

Answer: The worst: bad politics. The best: learning from others cultures.

What’s your most embarrassing travel story?

Answer: Banging my head on the glass door of a restaurant. I had too much good red wine in Rome. Everybody saw it. Luckily, it didn’t crack.

The glass or your head?

Answer: The glass.

What advice would you give to those who dream of traveling?

Answer: Become fluent in other languages. It will be a superpower later and will open more doors of opportunity for you.

If you had to retire on a continent other than North America, where would you pick? And why?

Answer: Asia Pacific. To visit more countries, continue learning Mandarin Chinese, and explore more ancient sites in the Far East.
